winter fades

As winter strolls off, what winter?...and is giving way to confused tulips and people,,,,I have been busy preparing for the April 2012 national release of Blurry Edges on my own label Bell Cove Records. All of my albums have been self released...with some help from Continental Records in Europe...but in the USA it has always been me,myself, and I...so now I will make it official. Bell Cove Records has some other releases due out this summer and fall...some delicious new music with my other project the Diving Bells....vinyl will be part of this plan also...when not doing the business side of things, I have been out performing with the fire choir, and busy writing songs, and recording some rough versions for my sound cloud side. I have to restrain myself from getting music out there just seconds after recording it. The album Blurry edges is available now, but will have an official publicity campaign in April with sincere hopes that more ears to succumb to the effort.
another tidbit, I sang on Johnny Dowd's album 'No Regrets' due out April 2nd....and that was a hoot recording with Johnny...more soon...sigh

release

A few of us (jennie & the fire choir)  will be in the WRUR studios in Rochester tomorrow (wed. May 18th) around 11 am or so....playing a couple from the new album and
a new song....
I love the drive...beautiful brick houses, white deer, and the Amish....

The day after record store day

Had a sweet gig at Angry Mom records in Ithaca yesterday. Outside the rain washed the  side walks and gutters, and inside the music was not awash. I snuck to the store
in the morning and wandered home with some vinyl gems before deciding to cut my hair by self (with a little help from my eldest) and then heading back into the rain to hear the some of the" tin tear drops"...actually I missed them entirely, but I was in time for my own set...I'll blame it on the hair... We played a few new ones and shook the building with an epic version of Blurry Edges...now I must gather some implements for travel. Tadahhhhhh....xj

singing on Johnny Dowd's album....

...i'm a little confused cuz last night I dreamt I sang on Johnny's album...but in reality i did drive out to "the shop", just 10 miles from my home  (Johny's primary source for rehearsing and recording and what else, well I don't ask) I arrived when he asked me to show up and he was next door eating lunch...I waited a little while, he showed up
and said..."did you just get here?" ...I said "no,, been here since noon." he laughed and said..."Oh....I assume that all musician's are late..."
anyway...I had a fine time singing, and from the little I heard, his new album is amazing as always.

...on a somber note we all lost a dear friend in our community last week...the town is rattled. The snow came tumbling down as the family carried our dear friend through a corridor of broken hearts...and as some brave souls spoke and blessed this dear man, the clouds broke and gave us warm early April sun, and then as he was lowered down
into his grave, the wind came a howling....
i need to go now and call a friend...tell them i love them...xj

marching on

just found out that a dear friend will sing a duet  that will become a 45 single on the coolest little label around...it's a surprise...just have to come back and see...
It's a rainy morning in dreary March weather, but I count this day as a blessed one...and my thoughts are with Japan...xj

winter promise

the snow has fallen and cloaks the frozen ground . A passerby shakes the tree and seems surprised when the snow
cascades on to her and melts on her exposed neck. The train howls...the crows unite on the maple tree...
wisconsin and libya...
